Kiswahili Week is an annual initiative by Chimbuko La Kiswahili, based in Arusha, Tanzania, aimed at celebrating and promoting Kiswahili as a unifying language for Africa’s communication, culture, and development. The initiative brings together students, professionals, government institutions, and international participants through engaging activities such as language workshops, cultural exhibitions, youth competitions, business forums, and media campaigns. Designed to strengthen cultural identity, enhance the use of Kiswahili in education, business, and governance, and support regional integration, Kiswahili Week positions Arusha as a center of linguistic and cultural excellence. Through strategic collaboration with government and stakeholders, the initiative seeks to empower communities, promote African identity, and create a lasting platform for unity, innovation, and opportunity across the continent.
